Originally from San Diego, CA, Emily moved to Los Angeles in 2016 and graduated from UCLA in 2020 with a major in communications and a minor in film and television. She has worked in both scripted and unscripted sectors across the entertainment industry.
At The Gurin Company, Emily coordinates the company’s bustling development slate and manages the day-to-day operations of the President/CEO Phil Gurin. An integral part of TGC, Emily has worked on the productions of Juneteenth: Movies of the Movement (TBS), the 52nd Annual NAACP Image Awards (BET), Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Spotlight: Honoring Our Kings – Celebrating Black Fatherhood, OWN Spotlight: Honoring Our Kings – A Black Dad Conversation, and Friday Night Vibes with Tiffany Haddish and Deon Cole (TBS).
Emily began her professional career at Done + Dusted, assisting in the development and production of live events and specials like Stand Up 2 Cancer, The 70th Annual Emmy Awards, Shakira’s El Dorado Tour, The BAFTA Film Awards and NBC’s A Legendary Christmas with John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.
She next worked at FOX Entertainment in the alternative programming department, assisting on shows like The Masked Singer and Flirty Dancing. She made a switch to the scripted department at FOX and provided coverage for upcoming drama and comedy pilots until she realized that unscripted was where she was meant to be!
Additionally, she has worked in close collaboration on new formats and content with our friends at CBC (Canada), Amazon, CBS, CW and Discovery, as well our partners at Hudlin Entertainment, Stampede Ventures, Atlas Media Corp, Strawberry Blond (UK), Caravan (UK), Fuji Creative Corporation (Japan) and Something Special (Korea).
(She is passionate about the format business, supports the mission of FRAPA, and enjoys being involved with Phil at The Gurin Wines!)
