47th ANNUAL NAACP IMAGE AWARDS NOMINATIONS

The NAACP this morning announced nominees for its 47th annual Image Awards, which celebrate the accomplishments of people of color in TV, music, literature and film and honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors. ABC led all TV networks with 23 noms powered by 11 mentions for its comedy Black-ish, and Universal (behind Straight Outta Compton) and Netflix (with Beasts Of No Nation) each landed five nominations in film. Winners will be announced February 5 during a ceremony airing live on TV One.
